MeAgain Alternative: Pokii on iPhone & iPad

MeAgain vs Pokii: Both are GLP-1-focused trackers. MeAgain adds Android today, community features, and multi-mode food logging. Pokii is iPhone/iPad (Android coming soon) with native iPad layout, built-in meal and label scanning on the same timeline as dose charts, no ads/public feed, custom PK medications, configurable PDF reports, and Shotsy JSON import—but no verified MeAgain export, so switching means re-logging history.

Quick answer

  • Stay on MeAgain if: You need Android today, want the community/forum, or care most about MeAgain-only engagement (Capy companion, iMessage AI bot, RDN-branded nutrition content).
  • Consider Pokii if: You want GLP-1 depth and food logging in one app (built-in scanning on Today's log), iPad-native layout, iCloud-first privacy (no public social feed), Per Compound level charts, custom PK meds, or PDF progress reports to bring to clinician visits.
  • Migration: No documented in-app MeAgain export; Pokii cannot import MeAgain. Plan to start fresh or use Shotsy JSON only if you're coming from Shotsy.
  • Neither replaces medical advice: Level curves are modeled estimates, not lab results.

What MeAgain does well

MeAgain is a genuinely full-featured, GLP-1-specific tracker, not a shallow copycat. It covers shot and pill dose logging, injection-site tracking with shot-day prep lists, side-effect and symptom logging with severity and notes, weight trends with progress photos it calls Journey Cards, and a medication-level estimator it markets as Perfect Dose Day. It is available on both the App Store and Google Play, including Android Health Connect syncing for movement data, while Pokii is on iPhone and iPad today with Android in active development.

Food logging is a particular strength for MeAgain: photo, barcode, voice, or search, with AI-estimated protein, fiber, and water, positioned around GLP-1 appetite changes rather than generic calorie counting. That guidance is shaped in part by a named Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Erin Seprish, credited on MeAgain's site as Nutrition Lead. MeAgain also leans into engagement and brand personality with a Capy the capybara companion widget and an education-only AI chatbot reachable through iMessage. On the App Store, MeAgain holds a 4.8-star rating across roughly 24,000 to 25,000 ratings, with a claimed 500,000-plus users, and at least one verified review describes a co-founder personally helping a user resolve a device-migration issue. Its Google Play presence is smaller and rougher, with a 4.4-star rating from only 48 reviews and some reviewers describing the Android app as slow or glitchy, which suggests the Android build is less mature than the iOS app.

Food logging: one Pokii app vs MeAgain

A common mistake is treating Pokii as “shots only” and assuming you need MeAgain (or a second app) for meals. Pokii includes built-in meal and label scanning: scan nutrition labels for the most accurate macros (recommended), or capture meals in-app; edit before saving, and the entry lands in Today's log next to shots, check-ins, and weight, with nutrition totals flowing through Apple Health on the same dashboard you use for medication levels.

That is the structural difference versus many GLP-1 trackers: they bolt food modes onto a dose log, while Pokii is built so projected level chart, injection-site map, PDF reports, and food scans share one date-scoped timeline. MeAgain still leads if you want voice logging, MeAgain's RDN content library, or Android today; Pokii leads if you want iPad-native layout, closed privacy defaults, custom-medication PK fields, and food that lives in the same app and log as your injections—without installing or learning a separate product.

Where Pokii differs

The platform picture cuts both ways. MeAgain's own App Store listing says it is built only for iPhone, with no dedicated iPad layout, even though it does extend to Android through Google Play. Pokii is built for iPhone and iPad with a native iPad layout. MeAgain is also on Android if you need both mobile platforms today.

On the tracking side, Pokii includes a few things not documented anywhere in MeAgain's public App Store listing, website, or FAQ. Pokii supports custom medications with real pharmacokinetic fields, half-life, Tmax, and bioavailability, that can be plotted on the projected level chart, useful if you're on a compounded or less common medication. Pokii also offers configurable PDF progress reports—you choose which sections to include, such as projected levels, weight, shots, injection sites, pain, side effects, appetite, mood, and more—for sharing with a provider or keeping your own records. Pokii includes a front-and-back injection-site body map with rotation settings and a suggested next site. None of these three were found in MeAgain's public materials during this review, so this is stated as an absence in what MeAgain documents publicly, not a confirmed absence in the app itself, since MeAgain was not tested hands-on for this comparison.

Privacy and how each app uses your data

The two apps take different approaches to data, and it's worth stating plainly rather than as a judgment, since community features are a real draw for some people. MeAgain's own privacy policy, effective June 19, 2026, states that health and other personal data may be used for marketing the service and disclosed to service providers and AI vendors. MeAgain also has public Community Features: comments, public forum posts, reactions, and user-selected display names that are visible to other users and potentially to the public and search engines. Google Play's Data Safety section for MeAgain states no data is shared with third parties, while also noting the app may collect personal info, financial info, and six other data categories.

Pokii's product setup is built around the opposite defaults: no ads, no public social feed, and no ad-driven social server of any kind. Your tracking data syncs through your personal iCloud account, and progress photos sync through iCloud Drive. There's no forum, no public display name, and nothing designed to be seen by other users. If peer support, community reactions, or a public journey feed matter to you, that's a genuine feature MeAgain offers that Pokii intentionally does not.

Migration: what actually happens if you switch

This is the part worth being direct about. No self-service export feature, CSV, JSON, or otherwise, appears anywhere in MeAgain's App Store listing, Google Play listing, website, FAQ, or support center. MeAgain's privacy policy does reference a data-portability right to request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format, but that's a manual, legally-driven request handled by emailing support@meagain.com, hedged with the phrase "to the extent technically feasible," and it isn't a documented in-app export button. A verified App Store review even describes a user needing hands-on help from a MeAgain co-founder to manually move data to a new phone, which is more evidence of support-assisted migration than a self-service export path. No MeAgain export format was found or verified, so Pokii cannot import your MeAgain history. If you switch, you'll be starting your log fresh in Pokii, even though Pokii does support importing its own JSON backups, restoring from iCloud, and importing Shotsy JSON or generic CSV files for other sources.

Given that, here's an honest read on who should actually make the move. If you're on iPhone and iPad and want a native iPad layout, built-in food scanning with GLP-1 charts in one app, prefer no ads and no public community feed, or want PK modeling for a custom or compounded medication and configurable PDF reports, Pokii is worth setting up even though it means re-entering your history. If you're on Android today, rely on Health Connect syncing, or want MeAgain's AI chatbot, Capy companion, RDN-guided food content, or its community forum and reactions, staying with MeAgain makes more sense, since none of that carries over and Pokii does not replicate MeAgain's community or voice-logging stack.

Always follow your prescriber’s instructions for GLP-1 medications. Pokii helps you log and visualize your journey; it does not replace professional care.
