How to Schedule Weekly GLP-1 Shots in Pokii
Pokii lets you set up a shot schedule during onboarding or later from your medication settings, choosing either a recurring interval or specific weekdays so your reminders and dashboard match how you actually take your GLP-1 medication. Once a schedule is in place, Pokii uses it to power your next-shot countdown, reminder notifications, and the overdue banners that appear if a dose slips past its window, and you can always go back in and adjust the schedule when your routine changes, such as after a trip or an appointment that pushes your usual day.
Setting up a weekly or custom-interval schedule
During onboarding, Pokii walks you through choosing your medication, whether it is injectable or oral, and your intended cadence as part of the goals-and-schedule setup, so a schedule already exists by the time you finish the initial questions. For a medicine you take on a fixed pattern, Pokii's flexible shot schedules let you choose either a straightforward interval, like every so many days, or specific weekdays if your routine is built around something like Monday and Thursday rather than a strict day count. Because scheduling is set per medicine, you can give different medications their own cadence if you are tracking more than one.
If you did not finalize your schedule during onboarding, or you want to change how it works later, the same settings are available afterward: you can set per-weekday doses if your dose varies by day, pick a custom next-shot date if you need to nudge the calendar without rebuilding the whole schedule, and choose a reminder time so your per-medicine shot reminder fires when you actually want to be nudged, rather than at a default time. You can schedule multiple medicines at once when you are tracking more than one medicine. Once your schedule is set, it flows through the rest of the app automatically: the dashboard's next-shot countdown, current dose, and days-on-dose all pull from it, as does the Calendar tab, where you can view your shots in month or list mode and tap any entry to review or edit it.
What happens if you're running late
Life does not always follow your reminder schedule exactly, so Pokii is built to notice when a shot slips rather than just going quiet. If a dose is due or has passed its expected day, Pokii shows an overdue or shot-day banner on your dashboard, so the moment you open the app it is clear where you stand, without needing to cross-reference your schedule yourself. Tapping the banner deeplinks you straight to reschedule the dose, so getting back on track does not mean hunting through settings to find where your schedule lives.
Alongside the dashboard banner, Pokii's per-medicine shot reminders are timed from the reminder time you set in each medicine's schedule, so notifications keep reflecting whatever cadence and reminder time you have configured, rather than a generic daily nudge. When you do log the shot, whether on time or later than planned, Pokii records the date, time, medicine, dose, and any notes you add, and keeps a full edit history, so a delayed shot is captured accurately rather than backdated to when it was supposed to happen. That combination, a banner that flags the miss and a reminder tuned to your own schedule, is what Pokii uses in place of leaving you to remember shot day on your own.
Adjusting your schedule when your shot day needs to change
Travel, appointments, or just a day that runs long can all push your usual shot day, and Pokii's schedule is built to be adjusted rather than restarted. If you need to move your next dose without changing your whole recurring pattern, you can set a custom next-shot date directly, which shifts the upcoming reminder and overdue tracking to the new day while leaving the rest of your schedule, interval or weekdays, intact for the following cycle. That is the same mechanism you would use after a travel day pushes your usual Tuesday shot to Wednesday, without reconfiguring the whole schedule from scratch.
If the change is more permanent, for example your weekday dosing pattern is shifting for good, you can go back into the same flexible schedule settings you used during onboarding and update the selected weekdays, the interval, or the reminder time itself. Because the schedule feeds the dashboard countdown, the calendar, and your reminders, updating it in one place keeps all three in sync, so you are not left with a reminder firing on your old day while the dashboard still shows the previous one. As with the rest of Pokii, scheduling and reminders are a tracking tool meant to support your own routine, not medical advice, so any real change to your dosing regimen should still come from your care team.
Always follow your prescriber’s instructions for GLP-1 medications. Pokii helps you log and visualize your journey; it does not replace professional care.
